Notes:
.
.
.
+The bars will start on the floor, and will be totally empty. Athletes will have to load and lift their own bars. There will be no racks used in this workout.
.
.
.
+The RX teams may divide up the work any way they want to, until all reps are complete. SCALED teams can divide up the squats any way they want, but the burpees must be done in multiples of 10. So, for any given round of 20 burpees, the athletes have to tackle doing ‘em either in 2 sets of 10, or 1 set of 20. Who does these sets of 10 or 20 burpees is entirely up to the team. But doing single-rep sets of burpees with teams of athletes running in a constant circle around the bar is a no-rep. =)
.
.
.
+At all times, one person is working and the other two are resting (note- the “resting” teammates ARE allowed to lift the bar from the floor to the back-rack or front-rack position of the squatting teammate).
.
.
.
+Athletes may squat clean into the first front squat.
.
.
.
+Athletes may snatch into the first rep of overhead squats.
.
.
.
+The back squat weight is about 10% above the posted 10-rep minimum required front-squat strength for scaled/RX athletes, which should be totally reasonable.+Teams are responsible for changing weights themselves during each heat.+2 athletes may lift the bar from floor to shoulder to enable the 3rd teammate (the squatter) to set up for the squats at the back or front-racked position. However, the assisting athletes may not lift the bar to overhead to aid in setup for overhead squats. The overhead-squatting teammate has to get the bar from shoulder to overhead on his/her own.

 +Mens’ setup for HSPUs is 2 x 25# plates + Abmat.

+Womens’ setup for HSPUs is just an Abmat, with no plates.

+While the weights here are ALL posted as multiples of 5#, the women WILL actually be using womens’ bars (33# bars…. so the actual womens’ weights in scaled, for example, are 113/93/63).

+The bars may be dropped between sets. For example, after a team successfully completes the first 30 back squats, they can dump the bar and move on to their HSPUs.

+However, teams don’t HAVE to dump the bar during sets. For example, if the athletes “rotate” who’s squatting partway through the front squats, they can team up to hold the bar at shoulder height and “round-robin” a new teammate under the bar before continuing with the front squats.

+Key movement standards reminders for squats: Don’t just focus on full-depth squats. Be sure to hit full hip extension at the TOP of every squat, too. Leave NO doubt in the judges’ mind; be SURE to fully lock out the squat at the top. Especially with overhead squats. We know that it’s tough to full extend the hips at the top of back squats and overhead squats, but it is the requirement. Leave no doubt in the judges’ mind, or risk getting the dreaded NO-REP!

+Key movement standards for HSPUs: With handstand pushups, be absolutely SURE that you have your feet ON the wall at lockout of the elbows. Bailing out/coming off the wall early is a NO-REP.

+Have fun, move fast, and plan ahead. This is intended to be a pretty fast and aggressive workout, and the teams that are not just STRONGEST, but also most intelligently design, coordinate and execute their plan of attack will finish first.
